Hannah has a condition called hemiplegia – “When I was 11 months old I had meningitis, which led to a stroke; this caused a weakness down my right side. I was 4 years old, and just starting primary school, when my family first got in contact in with Whizz-Kidz”.
Mandy, Hannah’s mum explained “The physios we were involved with mentioned Whizz-Kidz to us, and we got in touch. Whizz-Kidz provided Hannah with her powered wheelchair, which meant she could zoom around the playground with the other kids, rather than being pushed by a teaching assistant!”
“Since receiving my powered wheelchair, I became a Whizz-Kidz Ambassador attending my local Whizz-Kidz club (…) because I went to mainstream school, clubs were the only place I could meet people in wheelchairs like me, which was really impactful. It also gave me much more independence”
